Forest School

Every child in our school takes part in our Forest School curriculum at least once a week.  There are also extra opportunities for Forest School activities in lunch clubs and in our after school enrichment offer.

We have mapped out the children's learning in our Forest Curriculum so that it covers much of the Science curriculum in a hands-on way whilst also meeting our vision that our #KeyinghamKids learn more about the natural world, how to care for it and respect it, how to build upon it and how to survive in it so that they can be responsible and independent members of our community.

Our key outcomes for the children are:

In EYFS: To know and understand fundamental concepts of the natural world, using the correct language to talk about what they have learned.

In KS1: To know and understand what there is in our world to protect, how to do that and what impact we can have on our world.

In KS2: To know and understand the legacy we have for our future regarding our natural surroundings and how to apply the skills we have learned to our future lives.
