This week in class we have been learning about: In Maths, we have learnt how to draw a pictogram. In History we learnt more about Michael Collin’s expedition. In RE we asked the question ‘What is Raksha Bandhan and how often is it celebrated?’. In DT we have learnt more about mechanisms. We have also been practising our song in music ready for our performance to year 1!
Our Flashback 4 questions have been:
1. Today: Why is Raksha Bandhan celebrated?
2. This/last week: Can you remember the name of the expedition Michael Collins went on?
3. Last week: Can you make a tally chart to show 22?
4. Last term: Can you name me 3 coordinating conjunctions?
Next week we will be learning about: In History we will be focusing asking why Sacagawea was important. In Science we will continue to consolidate all our year 2 learning. In RE we will be making Rakhi bracelets and learning more about Raksha Bandhan. In Maths we will start to learn about position and direction. In PE we will continue with athletics and locomotion.
In Phonics: most of the children are now learning the Set 3 sounds (see sound mats in bookbags to support your child with their learning). Please continue to read and change their books regularly.
Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
Please could the children bring their PE Kit on Monday and Wednesday.
