This week in class we have been learning about: In Writing, we have been finalising our non-chronological reports on our chosen animal. In Maths, we have learnt how to tell the time to 5 minutes. In History we were introduced to two explorers: Sacagawea and Michael Collins. In RE we asked the question ‘How do Hindu’s welcome a new baby?’. We even had an exciting delivery this week of partridge eggs into the Year 2 classroom!
Our Flashback 4 questions have been:
1. Today: Where were Sacagawea and Michael Collins born?
2. This/last week: What objects would we find on a Hindu home shrine?
3. Last term: What fraction is equivalent to 2/4?
4. Last term: Fruits and vegetables contain v___________ and m___________
Next week we will be learning about: In History we will be focusing on Sacagawea’s expeditions. In Science we will continue to consolidate all our year 2 learning. In RE we will be asking the question ‘What is ‘Raksha Bandhan?’. In writing, we will be writing a recount based around the hatching of the partridge eggs!
In Phonics: most of the children are now learning the Set 3 sounds (see sound mats in bookbags to support your child with their learning). Please continue to read and change their books regularly.
Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
Please could the children bring their PE Kit on Wednesday and Friday as on Friday the children have a training session with Holderness Vikings!
