This week in class we have been learning about: In science we dug deeper into the ‘gases’ state. In RE we asked the question ‘What do our senses tell us about Hindu worship?’. In Computing, we used our knowledge of ScratchJr to create a sequence using speech settings. In PE we explored the different ways our body can demonstrate balance and agility. On Thursday 9th May we celebrated VE day, this included learning more about rationing and why we celebrate VE day.

Our Flashback 4 questions have been:

Today: Can you name me a solid, a liquid and a gas?

2. This/last week: Why are processed foods not very good for you?

3. This term: Can you name 4 different bodies of water?

4. Last term:  Where did the Great Fire of London start?

Next week we will be learning about: In RE we will continue to ask ‘what do our senses tell us about Hindu worship?’ focusing on the senses sight and touch. In Science we will be asking ‘how does an ice cubes state of matter change?’. In Art we will be focusing on ‘The Great Wave’ created by Katsushika Hokusai. In Jigsaw, we will be looking at friendships focusing on trust and appreciation.

In Phonics: most of the children are now learning the Set 3 sounds (see sound mats in bookbags to support your child with their learning). Please continue to read and change their books regularly.

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
