Next week, all of our work on the climate in Geography will continue with us considering how we are the guardians of this world.  Our understanding of the cold war and the space race will also continue.  More big questions will be asked about the meaning of life according to Judaism.  Our science will continue to look at chemistry and what happens when chemical reactions occur.  We're also looking forward to finally getting a bit of summer sunshine, enjoying PE outside and refining our performance for the school play.

Next week the children will be completing their narrative work on a modern day retelling of MacBeth.  We will be looking at climate across the world in greater depth.  Our history work on Power, Empire and Democracy will start to look at the space race in the context of the Cold War.  Religion and world views will continue to ask that big questions of what is the purpose of life according to different viewpoints?  The children will also continue to develop their artistic drawing skills and programming those new micro:bits.

Next week we will be continuing with all of the topics we have started so far.  Our writing will continue on MacBeth.  More work on climates around the world, Democracy, Power and Empire in history will also come up.  Computing is a new topic that involves programming micro:bits to perform a variety of functions.  The days are busy but it’s good preparation for next year.

Next week, we’re looking forward to our trip to Driffield for the food and farming day (let’s hope the weather is kind to us). Going forward from this point, we’ll be continuing our work on the functions of the human body, asking those big questions about life’s purpose according to different faiths and beginning to look at the climate across the world.  Have a safe and restful weekend everyone.

Next week, we will be doing our SATs tests.  We have worked incredibly hard all year and are excited to both show off everything we have learned and also to get them done.  We will be having a SATs breakfast every morning to fuel us up for the day (children wishing to have something will need to be here when the gates open at 8:30). We are looking forward to the next dance session for our musical production and also to making full use of our school field now it has finally dried out enough to play on.  Bring on the summer.

When asked, it won’t come as a surprise, that the children’s favourite memories this term are dominated by their trip to Peat Rigg where abseiling, stream walking and rock climbing were all tried - some more successfully than others. One child said, “The stream walking was fun, but freezing!”

As thoughts turn to the Christmas break, Lie-ins seem to be one of the things people are most excited about, as well as opening presents and spending time with the people that mean the most to them.

Next term they are looking forward to more Maths, more DT and continuing to use the tools in forest school.
