This week in Year 3, we have been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling. We voted as a class for this to be our next class story. So far, we have been introduced to ‘The Dursley’s and Harry’s life under the stairs. He has just got back from a visit to the zoo for Dudley’s birthday and Aunt Petunia is dyeing Dudley’s old school uniform, for Harry to wear when he goes to secondary school.

This week in Year 3, we have been learning to create a set of simple instructions called an algorithm to tell a computer what to do. We have also learnt about cyberbullying in our online safety and how it is different from bullying. This morning, in Maths, we learnt how to make a cube from a net and in PE, we did Olympic activities like long jump, javelin and shot put.

Next week in Year 3, we will be asking questions like ‘Can we compare and group rocks?’, ‘What types of rocks are there?’ and ‘Can we describe the different types of rocks?’
