This week, in Art we have been practising the skill of continuous life drawings to create still life pictures. We asked, “What are contour lines?” these are theouterlinesofa shape. In PE, we played ball games that involved good listening skills and co-ordinating skills. A ball was placed in the middle of a square, we were given actions to copy and when Mrs Overton shouted “Ball!” you had to quickly grab the ball and whoever had it first won. In Music, we’ve learned a new song called ‘Your Imagination’. We were asking, “What is composition in music?” In History we were learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We asked, “When did they live?” We learned they lived at the same time as Prehistoric Britons, but in Africa, instead of Europe. In Science, we learned what an organism is. We asked, “What are the different food groups?” We sorted different pictures of foods into fruits and vegetables (fibre, vitamins and minerals), carbohydrates, fats, dairy and protein.
Next week, we will be asking, in History, ‘Who ruled the Ancient Egyptians?’ In Science, ‘What is a balanced diet?’ and in RE ‘Where do rules come from?’
