This week in Year 5, we have shown kindness by showing how well we can listen and follow instructions when a visiting golf professional called Ivan came to show us how to use a putter and take part in different skill tasks.

This week in Year 5, we have shown courage by working really hard in our first week back – especially in Maths. Most of us managed to get a score better than our average from last half term in our weekly Arithmetic test. We have also shown courage in the lessons by tackling lots of different multiplication questions using efficient methods.

This week in Year 5, we have shown curiosity by using what we have learnt last half term about Nairobi to create a persuasive leaflet that will show people why they should go and visit. We have also compared Nairobi to another African place called Awra Amba which is in Ethiopia.

Next week, we will be working on a range of different grammar skills in writing as well as a couple of special lessons based on being environmentally friendly. In Maths, we will be continuing our work on multiplication and moving onto division. In the afternoons, our main focus will be on History and Science. Don’t forget, it is World Book Day on Thursday and we will be doing some different reading and writing tasks throughout the day.
