This week in Year 5, we have shown kindness by giving positive comments to each other about our work so far this term including in our sketching task on Friday afternoon. We have also shown kindness by offering or accepting to help others when they have struggled with some spellings. We have also been kind this week by welcoming Miss Wilson into Year 5 (who will be working with us until June).

This week in Year 5, we have shown courage by not giving up when we started our work on Fractions this week. We know it can be a tricky Maths topic, but we are determined to master it by the end of the term.

This week in Year 5, we have shown curiosity by starting our learning about Georgian Britain in History. We have already learnt a lot about it from secondary sources such as: books, videos and drawings. We have also started asking a lot of questions to further our understanding.

Next week, we will be starting our new writing text by trying to write in the style of a chosen author, focusing on setting and character description. In Maths, we will be moving onto recognising equivalent fractions and converting improper fractions into mixed numbers. In Reading, we will be focusing on a non-fiction text all about Nigeria. In the afternoons, we will be starting our next Computing unit on spreadsheets, continuing our work on Dreams and Goals in Jigsaw and we have a couple of surprises on Monday.
