This week in Year 5, we have shown kindness by welcoming Pudsey and Kofi (from BBC Radio Humberside) to our school and setting him his Children in Need challenge. In Jigsaw, we have shown respect to each other when complimenting our Anti-bullying double page spread work.

This week in Year 5, we have shown courage by trying lots of new, different chords in Music when playing the Ukuleles. This has not been easy as it can be tricky to get your fingers in the right position, but most of us are being very resilient and we are getting better.

This week in Year 5, we have shown curiosity by finding out more about the Maya – for example – where and when they were from as well as what Maya writing was like. In RE, we have also been learning about what life is like for a Muslim by watching a video about Asmir, who is a Muslim living in Denmark. We found out how they express their beliefs.

Next week, we will be looking at life cycles of butterflies in Science and finding out even more about the Maya in History. On Wednesday, we will be doing the Maya Now Press Play activity as we did not get to do it this week. Forest School is also on Wednesday. In Writing, we will be starting our next piece which is going to be a suspense story. In Maths, we will be working on an assessment to check what we have learnt so far before moving onto Multiplication and Division.
