This week in Year 5, we have shown kindness by helping each other out in writing through our word banks and punctuation checking. In our Ukulele session, we helped each other out by explaining how to use a plectrum and how to play the chords.

This week in Year 5, we have shown courage by making sure we have been discussing our answers as Mr Hebb has been ‘cold calling’ us to try and get everybody involved in lessons. This means we have not always had to put out hands up, but we have had to be prepared to answer questions.

This week in Year 5, we have shown curiosity by learning about the similarities and differences between the UK and USA. We have also been set a challenge to learn the 50 states of America. In Forest School, we were curious when we had to learn how to tie different knots using rope.

Next week, we will be continuing our persuasive writing and trying to use informal language. In Maths, we will be comparing and ordering numbers up to one million. We have also got a reading and maths test to complete next week. In the afternoons, our main focus is going to be Art and we are going to be creating a ‘cold piece’ of art work using the skill of hyper-realistic drawing.
