This week in Year 5, we have shown kindness by completing random acts of kindness for each other and not expecting anything back in return. At breaktimes, we have also shown kindness by helping out tidying all of the equipment.

This week in Year 5, we have shown courage by having a go at playing our first piece of music together on the ukuleles as well as rapping and singing along to a new song. We were also courageous in Mr Copley’s assembly because we showed our interest by putting our hands up to answer questions in front of the school.

This week in Year 5, we have shown curiosity by learning how gravity works and did some comparative testing on different paper aircrafts e.g, airplane, helicopter and glider, to see which one would be the best at flying and which were not so good.

Next week, we will be starting a new piece of writing in Literacy based on visiting USA. This writing will have us working on our ability to write formally and informally. In Maths, we will be continuing our work on place value. We will be taking part in our first forest school lesson of the new school year, finding more out about USA in Geography and looking at beliefs in a new religion in our RE session.
