This week in Year 5 we have started to read The Great Caravan Catastrophe by Mark Lowery. As a class we made the decision not to read ‘An elephant in the Garden’. We also read an extract from ‘Samba the Coward’ during our reading lessons.

This week in Year 5 we have practised fronted adverbials and identified the features of the River Humber in geography, we learnt how to play Kidditch on World Book Day and did PE with Mr Mountain. We started to look at the city of Nairobi.

Next week we will be asking what are the features of the Nairobi River in geography, in maths we will continue to look at fractions.
