In Maths, we’ve been focusing on sequencing decimals and exploring efficient strategies for adding and subtracting them.
Our Tempest rehearsals are progressing well — we’ve nearly blocked the entire production, and the children are working incredibly hard to learn their lines and bring their characters to life.
During Reading, we’ve been delving into an extract from Louisiana’s Journey, with a particular focus on exploring the character of Granny and her role in the story.
In Music, we’ve kicked off our music production unit. The children thoroughly enjoyed using Yu Studio on Charanga to create their own hip hop drum beats. We’ve also introduced Aretha Franklin as our June Musician of the Month and are excited to explore her music and learn more about her remarkable life and career.
In Geography, our focus has been on the different climates around the world, laying the groundwork for further exploration of global environments.
Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be exploring some exciting new questions:
How do I divide decimals by 10, 100, and 1000? What is a negative number?
What is the universe?
What are biomes and vegetation belts?
How can I add a bass beat to a hip hop track?
Children will need their PE kits Tuesday and Thursday next week.
