This week, we had the chance to practice some rugby skills with Holderness Vikings. We learned the different types of kicks, practiced passing a rugby ball and worked in teams to score a try. In RE, we learned that there are 5 pillars in Islam. One of the pillars we learned is called Shahada, which meant that Allah is there only God. We also learned of two types of Muslims: Sunni and Shia. The Sunni Muslims decided that when Prophet Muhamad died, their successor should be someone who is educated and worthy for the job. Whereas the Shia Muslims believed their successor should be someone from the Prophet's family. In Dance, we went through the whole performance with the Year 4s and practiced the dances and songs. In History, we learned more about who was in charge in Ancient Greece. They used democracy to vote for the people in power, who rules over each city-state. The people who couldn’t vote were people under the age of 20, women, or if you were not a citizen.

Our Flashback questions on Blooket this week were:

1.How many pillars are there in Islam?

2.In Ancient Greece, did they follow an autocracy or a democracy?

3.Where do babies start life?

Next week, we will be investigating magnetic materials, learning news ways to strengthen our bridge structures and asking, ‘What is debugging?’ on a computer programme.

Our spelling rule next week is “sh‘’ sounding words: publish, tension, tissue, exclamation, intention, tradition, non-fiction, population, transition, special, crucial

Next week, Dance will be on Tuesday.
