This week in Year 3, we have been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling. This week Harry has discovered he is a wizard and will be going to Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This week in Year 3, we have been learning fossils, rocks and how soil is made. We have also been learning about perimeter and that it is the distance round a shape. We have looked at some fossils and rocks and tried to sort them into groups. We learned that there are three main types of rock – sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. In PE, we learned how to control a ball when we are throwing it and when using a hockey stick.

Next week in Year 3, we will be asking questions like ‘Who are the faith founders and what did they teach?’ and ‘How do their teachings influence us today?’
