This week in year 1, we have been reading Katie Morag stories

This week in Year 1 we have been learning reading lots of graphemes in our phonics lessons. In maths, we have been comparing numbers within 50 using the symbols > < and = and finding 1 more and 1 less or 10 more and 10 less.  In Forest School, we went on a plant hunt and found snowdrops, nettles, holly and dandelions. In History, we have been learning about a famous person from Hull called Amy Johnson and she is famous because she is the only lady to have flown solo from London to Australia. To experience flying, we entered the classroom/airplane with a boarding pass and watched a flight on the big screen. We also enjoyed World Book Day playing Quidditch and we made a Harry Potter potion which blew up a balloon with gas.

Next week in Year 1 we will be asking: What is a biography?
