What a week!
Welcome to the first Friday of the new school year... and what a week it has been!
I hope that the children have been talking to you about some of the changes in school this week. Their class blogs today will give you more details to discuss over the weekend.
Here are a few of the highlights from our perspective:
- We welcomed a full class of new Reception children many of our newest and youngest pupils into Nursery this week. They have settled so well - we have been amazed by their enthusiasm and energy.
- Our Enhanced Resource Provision (The Hub) has welcomed 5 new pupils this week and have really enjoyed their new classroom extension.
- Everyone in school from EYFS to Year 6 have been enjoying learning from our enhanced curriculum this week. We have enriched our whole curriculum over the summer to ensure the children can learn more and remember more wonderful things throughout their time as #keyinghamkids.
- Our amazing 'Artist in Residence', Emily has worked her magic on another section of the school. She has already transformed the Library and the first floor corridor, but she has now made our two staircases into a beautiful representation of our school vision and values. The children have been transfixed by her work and we can't wait for you all to see them at Parent's Evening later this term or for a quick peek, head on over to our Instagram page.
- Bikeability has started in Year 5 and will continue into next week with Year 6.
- We have refreshed our before and after school club offer after speaking to the children at the end of the last term. We are running more play and build opportunities with a truckload of new Lego and games being delivered, our sports clubs will cater separately for EYFS and KS1 then KS2 on a different day. Our popular Arts and Crafts club remains and we have monthly silent discos planned where the children can pick their own playlists.
Mrs Richardson has also added below the PE letter, sent earlier in the week, and an important date's letter. This also includes Forest School and PE days for each class.
Have a safe weekend everyone and we'll see you all on Monday!
