This week, in PE, we started to learn a dance for our Annie production. We all took part and did our best! We started deciding what roles we each would have. The Year 3’s are going to be the orphans. In Geography, we were learning about countries in Europe and their capital cities. For example: England – London, Austria – Vienna, Romania – Bucharest and France – Paris. In French, we learned 5 new names of fruits. For example: une banana – banana, une pêche – peach and une pomme – apple. In Art, we have been learning proportions for self-portraits. We drew contour lines for a nose, eyes, mouth and head. Next week, we’ll look at putting these features accurately onto a face.

Our Flashback 4 questions this week were:

1) Can you define these art vocabulary words: proportions, foreground and background?

2) Can you translate these fruits from French to English: une pomme, une pêche, une fraise, une banana, une cerise?

3) Name one-way seeds can disperse.

4) Explain something you know about the life of Ancient Egyptians.

Next week, we will be asking “Why do some Islamic women choose to wear a hijab?” and “What are the human and physical features of the Alps?”

Our spelling rule next week is “ee‘’ sounding words: guarantee, feature, release, kilogram, brief, library, perceive, deceive, create, cereal

During the Summer Term, Flex Dance will be starting to production of Annie. Next week, this will be on Thursday.
